Black and White

I love working in black and white. The application of contrast, texture and light are key with the negative areas as important as the positive. I have work in collections in Europe, North America and Africa and have won numerous awards. Prints are available for $50.00, cards are $20.00 per assorted packet of 6. Originals vary in price. I also do commission work. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. All images and content © 2008 Bob Greaves and may not be used without his permission. bobgreaves@gto.net

F.A. Johnson
There are numerous old tugs at rest all over the Great Lakes. This one was in Thunder Bay. It was a sunny day with the boat sitting abandoned, silent, huge and majestic. What tales it could tell.

Sikh
This gentlemen was walking through one of many outdoor art shows. After being around my booth for quite sometime it finally dawned on me what a great face he had for a drawing. I think it came out pretty well.

I fell in love with this huge flywheel inside an old mill near Elora Ontario. The shadows areas were compelling for me. I wonder when it was last used?

Tally was a great Golden Retriever. She loved nothing better then being on the beach. A truly gentle being. This piece uses both line and stipple technique.

Remember When
The days of people dumping old cars anywhere they want are gone. This old Chevy was in a gully in a farmer's field near Grimsby Ontario. It no doubt provided someone with good memories.

Out of the Cold
Our kitchen bird feeder attracts all kinds of visitors. The smaller birds often burrow into the Yew bushes to escape both the cold and cats.

Cellar Window
This is looking through the basement of an old Mennonite barn that has since been torn down. I love the shadows inside and the light emanating from the far window.

Keep Out
A cold winter day and a message to go along with it. Very forlorn and isolated. I think the shack would have liked some company. Total isolation.

Mr. Chips
This guy was hanging around our patio. He seemed to want his drawing done. Chipmunks sure don't sit still for long.

Abandoned
This house has been torn down since I drew it. It was located near Stayner on a busy summer road. Someone lived there life here. If only the walls could talk.
